Owls - cute fluffy animals or monsters??

They have super big eyes, a big head and look sooo fluffy and cute.Owls.
I always wanted one as a pet - but never have seen a real one, only on pictures and in movies...

Hmmm.
What's wrong with them? They live in the forest, don't they? - Went to forest, no owls.
Where are they? Are they even real?!?!

Thank God we have internet nowadays!

 Let's face some facts: 

• owls are birds (check)

• more than 200(!) species, mostly loners (aha...)

• active during night, sleeping during day (aah, that might be the reason why I never saw an owl in the forest by day...)
• have super awesome eyes to see in the dark and can rotate their heads as much as 270(!!) degrees in either direction (wow!)
• they hunt smaller animals like mice, but also fishes, snakes, earthworms, snails, bats, frogs and bigger owls even hunt smaller owls (WHAT?!???)

 
Shocking, isn't it? I never thought my cute little friends could be so brutal!

But that's the naked truth: Owls are cute fluffy monsters!

That's why... 
Don't trust them, adore them and never go to the forest by night, you might be the smaller one...
